Basketball Complex

In August of 2012, Bayou Academy contracted with Covington, one of the most trusted names in sports floors, to replace the gymnasium floor.  We chose the Robbins eclipse floor system with northern hard maple as the color.  Porter glass backboards with factory-installed perimeter led light systems were installed as well.  A Putterman athletic floor cover system was also purchased to cover the floor when other activities are being held in the gymnasium.

The entire gymnasium was painted and updated during this renovation.  In addition, it was decided that a stage would be built at one end of the basketball court.  This would allow an opportunity to host more events in the gymnasium such as class skits, plays, assemblies and much more.  Stage curtains were installed including a valance with the "BA" emblem.

The "Horseshoe Club" was created to allow patrons of Bayou Academy Foundation to make donations which would be earmarked for the gymnasium project.  Because of many generous donations, this improvement became a reality.

In August of 2015, a new ceiling and lights were installed in the gymnasium under the supervision of Collins Construction.
